Thankful

This Thanksgiving, I am going to Petaluma which is in Northern California, to see some family.
I am doing the 6-7 hour drive with my boyfriend, my older sister and her boyfriend, and my younger sister.
In Petaluma, is my other mother (: another one of my sisters and her boyfriend.
Confusing right? You should meet my family :)

It should be good to get out of L.A. for a few days, and it will be good to be with family
I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving,
and I will leave you this new song that I am VERY thankful I found!

Today....

Today is a day to...
dream of places I want to travel to, listen to my "sleepy" playlist, read library books, smell the flowers, be creative, daydream, laugh, cry, wrap up in a warm blanket, drink something warm, write, dance, make people laugh, listen to songs that make you feel good, tell that person you love them, talk to your best friends about everything or nothing at all, to do whatever makes you happy...

i've fallen for fall

Fall has never been my favorite season.
I am more of a Summer (flipflops, tanks, light dresses thrown over bathing suits, shorts with a sweatshirt at night) kind of girl.
But as the weather is starting to cool down this year, I am becoming more of a Fall (boots, long sleeves, cozy sweaters thrown over, and scarves) girl. And here is why....

yum.
i would wear this every day
Big. Bulky. Draped. Over Sized. Knit. Sweaters.
They have made me LOVE the Fall season.
That and amazing leather boots, chai latte's with a shot of espresso, when it rains in L.A, and my newest discovery.....this bed.
its called 'Love Letters'
and it's all in French.

I saw it when I was in Santa Monica on 3rd St. Promenade at Anthropologie, and I am in love with it. Now I only wish I knew what it all said.....
all pictures are from zara.com or anthropologie.com

inspiration

Inspiration.
Lately, I am lacking in that department.
Nothing is making me motivated, nothing is inspiring.
I want to do so much, I want so much to happen, yet everything lately feels blah.
I think it seems that way to everyone around me too. Everyone is lacking inspiration, or something....

I guess pictures will do for now, and hopefully help a little (for anyone who is suffering from lack of inspiration)

I want to design amazing things like this shoe.

This makes me realize, I need to start sketching again.

FIDM graduate. Project Runway winner. Loved her line.

el matador....

Do you have that one place that is yours?
That one place you can escape to, and fully be yourself.
It may be a public place.
It may be a place you share with others, or a place only you know about.
That one place you feel comfortable, that makes every problem disappear.
For me, that is El Matador beach in Malibu....

I love it there. As soon as I step on that path that leads down to the sand,
my mood changes. It is like a different world. There are caves you can crawl through,
rocks you can climb on and look for tiny shells. There are huge starfish everywhere.
The water is gorgeous and creates patterns in the sand. I could stay there forever.
El Matador is definitely my "place" in California.....

Ralph Lauren. I Love You.

Go Here.

Watch this video.

Stuffy Studio to Shabby Chic

Right now, I am living in a dark stuffy little studio. When you open the windows it smells like shit, wet dog, and dirty air. The reason being half of my apartment building owns dogs and walk them in the alley where all my windows are located. The other reason is, I live in Downtown LA, more specific a block away from skid row. Don't get me wrong, it's safe, there is just a lot of homeless/crazy people walking around. Do I tell my mom I live the next street over from skid row, one of the most run down neighborhoods in Los Angeles, NO! There a lot of cute cafe's around here that I walk to, and a lot of fashion show rooms, but this has never been my first choice in living somewhere in LA. It sort of happened last minute, and is only for 6 short months. The one amazing part of the dark stuffy little studio is the roof. There is a pool, and lounge chairs. It is far up enough you can't hear all of the downtown traffic, and if you close your eyes, it almost seems like you are the beach. That would probably be my first choice in living somewhere, the beach.

I canNOT wait until December 1st hits, the day we can move out of this dark stuffy little studio. Until then I search on craigslist for apartments, and look at pictures of amazingly decorated rooms. I think I have a thing for interior design, or decorating. I can't wait to decorate my own house one day. I really love and think my house will have a lot of old antique pieces mixed with newer pieces. If you have heard of the book Shabby Chic Interiors, by Rachel Ashwell, I want my house to look like a lot of her book. Anyways here are some pictures that I LOVE.

I want a room like that, where I can design clothes, write, listen to music, and anything else I wanted.

you know you love me...

So, as Fall starts.....so does new television shows.

Now, I am not one who watches a million different tv shows, but I do like a few. Grey's Anatomy, for example is one I am addicted to. I LOVE the story line, and how it is written. Another show I do watch is Gossip Girl. Go ahead, start talking. I know it is a stupid teen drama about overly rich teenagers, with problems that would never actually happen to them in real life. But I become addicted, and mostly with the clothes. As someone who loves fashion, I am allowed to. Serena and Blair, or S and B as they're known are privileged enough to wear some pretty great designers and styles episode after episode. So as this new fall season starts I felt it necessary to share with you some of these amazing clothes.

This dress, and these tights are TO DIE FOR! It reminds me that I need to purchase a pair of these phenomenal tights. The best I have seen are from Rugby, by Ralph Lauren, and they will be my next purchase.
http://www.rugby.com/shop/item.aspx?productId=4338642&categoryId=3257163&cp=3138869
Go there to see (or purchase) them yourself.

Clearly I am a sucker for Ralph Lauren. Blair's Ralph Lauren dress in this picture, again TO DIE FOR! But then again so is everything by Ralph Lauren. Blair Waldorf's style is by far my favorite on the show. I am known to wear more of a preppier style, and if I was a teenage girl from the Upper East Side ( or even if I wasn't) I would love to have Blair's wardrobe.

Here are some more of my favorite Blair style moments:

until next time....you know you love me xoxo

Here it Goes...

This is officially my first time writing a blog. So no harsh judgments. I am a 22 year old girl from the smallest state, Rhode Island, but currently living in Los Angeles. I moved here when I was 20 years old, and have learned and grown up a lot. I am not really sure what this blog will be about, so we will see where it goes. It will not always be the same. I will hopefully have a mix of things....a million little pieces. Things that I like, from fashion to photography to interesting people or places. Things I come across that interest me....

For example,
Today, my younger sister Flora (she just moved here a week ago) and I decided to go to the Los Angeles Public Library which is in Downtown LA. We both love to read and since I have never been decided to check it out. I walked in expecting a library. This was the most amazing library I have ever been in. It was beautiful inside, and not to mention 8 floors. You walked in on the main level, and could go up or down four levels. We both got lost in the fiction section for who knows how long. Time seemed to not exist. I picked a random aisle to walk down and picked up countless books. I didn't even make it through half of the aisles. Flora noticed a sign at the top of the aisles that read "Can't find what your looking for? This is only 50% of our books, the rest are kept downstairs." I could barely make it down one aisle, and that was only 50% of their books! We went down three levels to the floor that read -3 to the astrology section. I love astrology and learning about horoscopes. They had amazing books all about astrology, but I didn't seem to find any I wanted to take out. But even some of the books they had in that section were amazingly old. That is one thing I love about the library, when you can tell a book is new with protective plastic cover, and the smell of old books. Needless to say I will be going back to this library over and over again to get lost in whatever aisle I find myself in.

I ended up taking out three books:
The Sabotage Cafe by Joshua Furst
Veronica by Mary Gaitskill
Hold Still by Nina LaCour

I will let you know how each one goes....whoever is reading this nonsense.
